Baritone Waltteri Torikka has established himself as one of the most sought-after opera and concert singers of his generation in Finland. This versatile and charismatic performer has received numerous prizes and awards throughout his career including the HSBC laureate at the Académie du Festival d'Aix, the Martti Talvela Award, the Pro Musica Foundation Young Musician of the Year, the Bayreuth Scholarship, and he has also won first prize at the National Lappeenranta Singing Competition.

Torikka’s operatic roles include the title roles in Don Giovanni and Eugene Onegin, Papageno in The Magic Flute, Guglielmo in Così fan Tutte, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, Danilo in the Merry Widow, Amfortas in Parsifal and Marcello in La Bohème. Waltteri Torikka has performed in several world premieres of musical compositions and operas. In addition to his work on the opera stage, Torikka is the artistic director of the Hämeenkyrö Opera Festival and a Finnish Grammy Award-nominated recording artist, with his albums topping the official Finnish album charts.
